Sarka Cibulcova - Visual Artist

ENCAUSTIC ART

Encaustic techniques provides Sarka with the opportunity to create artworks that express the inner workings of plants. The gradual building up of beeswax takes her close to the process of growing plant tissue. Moreover, it meets her desire for sustainable living; the medium is a nature-based technique and the most archival medium of all. Sarka started to explore encaustic painting during her high school years and she loves it. She likes the beeswax smell and its structure.

Bones of Plants

Bones of plants are the body of Sarka's work that shows the hidden life of plants. It depicts her long-life passion for nature. Especially plants from inside. She studies plants from a microscopic view, learns how they are built, what makes them grow, how they are protected against insects, etc.

Land Art

Land Art/Environmental Art are site specific works where Sarka uses only nature sources so she can leave them at place. Photography is the only evidence of these works.

Murals

Indoor and Outdoor murals painted with brush. No spray involved.

Other Artworks

Sarka creates also more realistic works that she feels like to create. Some of them are commissions or contribution to community (e.g.murals).
